Gana Odhikar Parishad president Nurul Haque alleged that former bureaucrats, actors and sportsmen want to become members of parliament (MP) without voting. Nurul Haque said this at a short rally in Vijayanagar water tank area of the capital on Thursday afternoon.

Gana Odhikar Parishad leaders-activists marched in Purana Paltan, Vijayanagar, Nightingale Mor and Nayapaltan areas of the capital in support of the sixth round of blockade by BNP and like-minded parties. They held a short rally before the procession.

In his speech, Nurul Haque criticized the former bureaucrats, actors and players who wanted to participate in the elections under the current government. Commenting that the government is desperate to hold another election like in 2014 and 2018, he said, ’20 former bureaucrats bought nomination forms, they followed the illegal orders of this government while in service. Now he wants to become an MP without voting at his last age. Some actors and players also want to become MP today without voting.

Nurul Haque commented that the government will not be allowed to conduct one-sided elections like the previous two elections. He demanded that the government should immediately resign and settle the election period government through dialogue.
