BNP leader Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail’s residence was searched by police

BNP Joint Secretary General Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail’s residence in the capital was searched by the police. At this time, a relative of Sohail was allegedly picked up.

The search was conducted at Sohail’s house in the area adjacent to Habibullah Bahar College in Shantinagar of the capital on Monday at around 7:30 pm.

Sohel’s personal officer Sumon Hossain was at the spot at that time. At night he told Prothom Alo that a relative of Sohail named Tanveer Ahmed was coming to that house in the evening. Some people stopped him on the way. Later 15-20 people came to Sohail’s house with Tanveer.

Sumon Hossain said, those people introduced themselves as members of the police. But they were in white clothes. They didn’t even have a walkie-talkie. They entered the house and searched two rooms. Later took Tanveer with him.

Sumon Hossain said, they did not know where Tanveer was taken. They are not sure who took him.

Meanwhile, a police source said that a team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) raided the residence of BNP leader Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail. However, no DB official’s statement was received in this regard.

Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail accused in several cases is absconding. A Dhaka court sentenced Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail to six months imprisonment in a case of sabotage last November 20. Source of data: prothomalo
