If BNP voters do not come to the polling station, their names will be removed from the list of beneficiaries

Ramesh Chandra Sen said in the election public meeting at Pokati Center Hat in Nargun Union of Thakurgaon Sadar on Wednesday, “All the floating voters of BNP should go to vote. If they do not go to vote, and if they are beneficiaries, then their names will be removed from the list. We are people of one word. I gave, I will reap. And if you go, there will be all center committee members, president-editor, but they will mark. Each will mark. If not, then action will be taken accordingly.

This public meeting was held at 4 pm. Ramesh Chandra Sen was elected Member of Parliament on the nomination of Awami League from Thakurgaon-1 seat in 2008, 2014 and 2018 parliamentary elections. In the twelfth parliamentary election, he is the nominated candidate for this seat.

In the public meeting, Ramesh Chandra Sen mentioned the various developments in the area and said, “The development we have done in the vast area of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila, no one except Dhaka-Chittagong has been able to do it. I did what was necessary when I was a minister. There is no work that I have not done. Next time we will come to power. Because our activities are extremely good. We don’t eat a penny. No one can say, give us money. If someone gives two-one, it goes behind our team. We don’t touch, don’t eat all that money.’

Ramesh Chandra Sen also said, ‘I came here earlier and made the Center Committee. A direction was given to you by the Center Committee. Public meeting is being held today. This public meeting means that all of you will go to the polling station. Mothers will go first and vote. And the boys, who are Guardians, will vote later. But the Guardians will remain. Let the vote be held in a festive atmosphere. No one can touch you there. I guarantee no one can touch it. If one does something, his reward will be immediate. Every center will have army, BGB, RAB, police force. Also we will have 200-300 children. But we will not leave anyone. I made a mistake once, I won’t make a mistake again. You will be alert.

When we tried to contact Ramesh Chandra Sen over the phone to talk about this statement, he did not pick up the phone.

Serekul Islam, Chairman of Nargun Union Parishad (UP) of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila was present in that election public meeting. Regarding such a statement of the member of Parliament, he said, “Uncle (Ramesh Chandra Sen) does not give such a statement in any public meeting.” What happened today? The biggest challenge in this election is to get voters to the center. He may have said it with that in mind.

In this regard, Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman told Prothom Alo, ‘It cannot be an election-related statement. It is a different kind of statement. We will look into the matter.
