Russia threatens to sever relations with the United States

Russia has threatened to sever diplomatic ties with the United States if assets seized over the Ukraine war are confiscated. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said this on Friday.

The Interfax news agency reported that Ryabkov said, “The United States must not take any action out of complacency.” They should not think that Russia is willing to continue diplomatic relations with them.

After the start of the Ukraine war, Western countries, including the United States, have been imposing sanctions on various Russian institutions and people close to Russian President Vladimir Putin one after another. As part of the sanctions, the assets of related individuals and entities located in the United States are frozen. Demands have been made to use these resources for the reconstruction of war-torn Ukraine. Recently several European countries confiscated some of Russia’s assets. In such a situation, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister gave this warning.

Massive drone strikes
Meanwhile, Russia launched a large-scale drone attack on Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, this morning. It was reported that two people were injured. With this, the Russian army launched a drone attack in Kiev for the sixth time this month.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said on social media Telegram that a drone attack was carried out on several residential buildings in the Solomyansky district, south of Kyiv. At that time, the upper floors of the buildings caught fire. However, the fire was quickly brought under control.

Rescue teams said in a telegram that several residential buildings on the 24th, 25th and 26th floors were damaged. One of the two injured is being treated at the hospital.

A video posted on social media showed smoke billowing into the sky. Klitschko also said that a house under construction in the Darnitsky area on the east bank of the Dnipro River also caught fire.

Ukraine’s air force claimed that 24 of the 28 drones used in the attack were downed. These “Iranian-made” drones were destroyed in central, southern and western Ukraine.

Russian forces have gained new momentum on the battlefield in eastern Ukraine in recent weeks. In the face of their attack, the Ukrainian forces were forced to take a defensive position.

Meanwhile, President Putin has announced to spend 157 billion (15 thousand 7 billion) dollars on the war in Ukraine and Russia’s security next year. Russia’s military spending next year will be the highest since the Cold War. And it will be 70 percent more than the current year’s expenditure.
