UGC has again sought an explanation as to how Tk. 44.5 lakhs were spent on the inauguration of the building in Chittagong University

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has again written a letter asking for an explanation of the expenditure of Tk 44 lakh 55 thousand for the inauguration of a building of Chittagong University. UGC wants to know this information in a letter given to the registrar of the university on Wednesday. It has been asked to respond to this letter within the next five working days.

Earlier, on December 19, the University Grants Commission had written to the university asking for a statement of the cost of the inauguration. Later on December 24, the university authorities replied to this letter.

The matter of sending the letter for the second time was confirmed by Prof. Md., the member in charge of the finance and accounting department of the commission. Abu Taher. He told Prothom Alo this Thursday morning that in the previous letter, the university had informed that the expenditure was from a project. However, the authentic documents of that project were not given. So again these have been requested by letter.
